Textron Aviation has brought its Cessna Citation Longitude jet to the Singapore Airshow to give the aircraft its Asia Pacific debut.

“We are thrilled to showcase the Citation Longitude at the Singapore Airshow and bring this revolutionary aircraft to this market for customers to experience for themselves,” said Jessica Pruss, president, Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing.

“With its segment-leading combination of cabin comfort, low operating costs, maintenance intervals, speed and range, the Citation Longitude is a superb fit for this region and is sure to be the star of the show.”

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification is expected early this year and the Longitude’s flight test program is well underway. The programme’s five test aircraft have now flown more than 800 flights and accumulated over 1,900 hours.

Since late 2017, the Longitude has been actively flying as part of a 46-city demo tour across the United States, highlighting the aircraft’s spacious cabin, high-end finishes, and impressive performance to customers. As part of the tour, the aircraft has visited 27 cities and accumulated more than 43,000 miles.

With a range of 6,482 kilometres (3,500 nautical miles) and full fuel payload of 726 kilograms (1,600 pounds), the Citation Longitude will be able to travel nonstop within the Asia-Pacific region from Singapore to Beijing or from Hong Kong to Mumbai with four passengers.

Also featured in Textron Aviation’s line-up at the show are the region’s best-selling Beechcraft King Air 350i and Cessna Grand Caravan EX turboprops, as well as the Cessna Citation Latitude, Citation CJ4 and Citation Sovereign+ jets.

“The Asia-Pacific region is home to one of our largest customer bases, and we continue to strengthen our footprint through additional investment and resources,” said Scott Ernest, president and CEO of Textron Aviation.

“Recognizing each unique mission need in the APAC region, the company is pleased to offer a robust and capable product portfolio, including its innovative additions under development, the Citation Longitude, Cessna Denali and Cessna SkyCourier.”

1,500 aircraft in Asia-Pacific region

Textron Aviation has nearly 1,500 of its aircraft operating in the region. The Citation Longitude will make its Asia-Pacific showing off its fully berthable seats and an in-flight accessible walk-in baggage compartment, designed specifically for maximum passenger comfort. It also offers the lowest cabin altitude in its category at 5,950ft. The aircraft also adds a full fuel payload of 1,600 lbs, a maximum cruise speed of 476 knots, and a four-passenger high-speed range of 3,500 nm and best-in-class ownership costs.

Also on display representing the company’s midsize business jets is the best-selling Citation Latitude jet, which entered into service two years ago and continues to prove itself as a highly capable special mission platform.

For the first time at the Singapore Airshow, Textron Aviation will display a Cessna Citation Sovereign+ from the company’s Pre-owned Direct inventory.

The company continues to lead the turboprop segment with more than 1,000 turboprops in the APAC region. The Beechcraft King Air 350i and Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft on display offer unmatched performance and flexibility to meet a variety of business and special mission needs.

The turboprops under development, the Cessna Denali and recently announced Cessna SkyCourier, are also expected to add value to the APAC market.
